BRIDGEWATER — Two people were transported to the hospital Sunday after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a car on Route 133.

The crash happened about 200 feet north of the Northrup Street intersection shortly before 4:20 p.m., when a 2010 Chevy Impala failed to yield while exiting the town boat launch onto South Main Street.

A 2019 Harley-Davidson FLTRX, carrying a 31-year-old New Milford man and 31-year-old Washington Depot woman, was traveling north on Route 133 when the car pulled out and struck the side of the motorcycle.

Police said the motorcyclist and his passenger were both transported to Danbury Hospital with minor injuries.

The Chevy’s two occupants were uninjured, but the car was towed from the scene and the driver — an 85-year-old Brookfield man — was issued a written warning for failure to grant right-of-way at an intersection, according to police.
