One dead in motorcycle crash near 1st Avenue and East Limberlost Drive in Tucson

Tucson Law enforcement Department says a male is lifeless following a vehicle collision in the vicinity of North 1st Avenue and East Limberlost Drive on Saturday.

Officers responded to experiences at 5:10 p.m. of a “serious-injury” collision involving a crimson 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt and a blue 2019 Yamaha YZFR3 motorcycle.

Prior to police arrival, Tucson firefighters responded and began dealing with people involved, at some point transporting the motorcycle rider to Banner University Clinical Center with everyday living-threatening injuries.

The motorbike rider was discovered as Blaine Martineau, 53. He died en route to the medical center, police reported.

Centered on interviews, officers identified that the driver of the Cobalt tried to make a still left change from a company positioned on the northeast corner of the intersection onto southbound 1st Avenue.

As the driver was generating the transform, the Yamaha, traveling northbound on 1st Avenue, collided with the Cobalt.

The driver of the Cobalt instantly stopped right after the crash and cooperated with the investigation, reported Tucson Police Office.

Impairment is not believed to be a issue in the. An investigation is ongoing and no rates or citations have been issued at this time.
