Land Rover Used Cars – The Range Rover Is Simply Beautiful

Patricia

Land Rover lovers all over the world know that the Range Rover is the flag-ship of the fleet and the most desired of them all. Land Rover started production of the Range Rover in 1970 and basically had the same design until 1995. There were slight re-design changes to the models from 1995 to 2002 but basically you could still see the old Range Rover design. I still believe old Land Rover used cars like these, are the most popular ones of all.

Land Rover Range Rover used cars:

Before The Ford Motor Company decided to buy Land Rover, there “R.R.” model used a BMW engine from 2003 to 2005. The Range Rover used a 4.4-litre V8, 282 horsepower engine, with 325 pounds, per feet of torque and this only came in a five-speed automatic transmission.

With the new ownership in 2006, Ford decided to use a different engine from Jaguar, another brand it recently purchased. The “R.R” now had two options for its engines, a 4.4-litre V8, 305 horsepower engine, with 325 pounds, per feet of torque. The second option was there 4.2-litre supercharged V8, 400 horsepower engine, with 420 pounds, per feet of torque. Both these used cars come with a six-speed transmission.

Fuel economy for the Range Rover varies. In 2005 the 4.4-litre engine had 19/13 litre, per 100 km, for city/highway driving and by 2009 it had a 17/11 litre, per 100 km. So as you can see it’s not the greenest vehicle in the world.

Some things to know about the Range Rover:

1- The Battery can lose power because of its very sophisticated electric system. It seems through its keyless system, when other cars (with the same sort of keyless entry system) drive by the vehicle, it somehow starts the Range Rovers electrical system and drains the battery.
2- There is an issue with the air conditioning in which it sometimes prevents it from working in very humid weather.
3- The doors have been known to collect water in the seals when there is heavy rain.

This is a vehicle I would be wary about. Unless you have some money to throw away on a very complicated electronic system that constantly needs repairs, it’s my recommendation to stay away.
