Stoking a controversy, Karnataka Household Minister Araga Jnanendra on Wednesday claimed that the latest murder of a 22-year-old youth listed here was mainly because he did know Urdu, but subsequently retracted it by stating that the incident was really around highway rage.

His statement evoked sharp reaction from opposition functions.

“I have gathered data about Chandru’s murder. He was asked to converse in Urdu, he didn’t know, when he explained he failed to know any language other than Kannada, they killed him by stabbing him regularly,” Mr Jnanendra claimed.

Noting that the target was a Dalit youth and has been killed in an inhuman manner, he claimed law enforcement have now arrested a several folks in link with the case and further more investigation is on.

However, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant stated the killing was above street rage.

“On the midnight of April 4 at close to 2:30 am, Simon Raj and Chandru, both mates, experienced long gone to an eatery at Hosaguddadahalli, and as the store was closed they had been returning. Even though returning on their bicycle, they collided with one more bicycle, getting ridden by a single Shahid,” he mentioned.
