Dalit delivery worker alleges customer spat on him, hurled casteist slurs

A Dalit shipping and delivery govt in Lucknow alleged that a client utilized casteist slurs and assaulted him final week, the law enforcement mentioned on Monday.

The Zomato supply agent, Vineet Kumar Rawat, in his criticism to the police said that he was attacked when he was offering food stuff to the client, Ajay Singh, at his dwelling on June 18, NDTV claimed. Singh allegedly claimed that he would not settle for food items touched by a Dalit.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Law enforcement (East) Qasim Abidi claimed that as for every the complaint, Singh requested Rawat his name and then hurled casteist abuses at him. “Singh then spat on his confront and assaulted him,” Abidi explained.

The FIR has named Ajay Singh, his brother Abhay Singh and 12 other unidentified folks. No arrests have been manufactured still.

Ajay Singh accused Rawat of abusing him. He also said that the supply agent “threatened to fix” him.

“The situation was that my brother gargled and spat water in advance of speaking to the shipping boy, and some of it unintentionally landed on his bike,” he claimed. “We pushed every other and he fell to the floor.”
