On 03/23/2022, at about 4:54 PM, Humboldt Place CHP gained a report of a crash involving a bicyclist and a automobile at the intersection of Herrick Avenue and Elk River Road. Staff from Eureka Law enforcement Office, Humboldt Bay Hearth Section, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Business, Metropolis Ambulance of Eureka and California Highway Patrol responded to the scene.

Based on the preliminary investigation, CHP has determined that a 1994 Dodge Ram was remaining driven westbound on Herrick Avenue, approaching Elk River Highway. A bicyclist, whose name is at the moment getting withheld pending notification of following of kin, was riding northbound on Elk River Street approaching Herrick Avenue. For reasons but to be identified, the bicyclist entered the intersection, driving into the westbound lane of Herrick Avenue, and straight into the route of the Dodge.
