A California Highway Patrol motorbike officer was strike by a motor vehicle pushed by a lady who is believed to have been beneath the influence of alcohol.

Around 4:55 a.m. Monday, the CHP officer was strike although stopped at the intersection of Adams Road and Indiana Avenue in Riverside.

The officer was thrown from the bike and the driver of the car or truck, a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, took off and fled the scene.

A witness adopted the fleeing suspect and was equipped to relay their location to Riverside law enforcement officers who identified the car or truck about two blocks away from the scene at the intersection of Lincoln and Tropicana avenues.

The driver was arrested on scene on suspicion of driving under the affect of alcohol and fleeing the scene of a crash.

She’s been discovered as Heather Fernandez, 26, of Riverside. Fernandez was booked into jail and held on $50,000 bail. Since the officer was wounded, she could deal with felony costs for the crash.

The CHP officer was transported to the medical center with average injuries. The officer’s affliction is unclear at this time.
