MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Tuttle Creek Blvd. has reopened right after it was shut down at the US-24 and Freeway 77 junction as crews worked to obvious a double bike accident.
The Riley County Law enforcement Section took to Facebook on Friday afternoon, June 3, to notify motorists that Tuttle Creek Blvd. has shut at the intersection of Highway 24 and Freeway 77 – at the switch-off for Riley.
RCPD explained crews have been responding to an injuries accident that included two motorcycles.
Officers at the scene explained to 13 News that 3 mates on three bikes have been headed southbound on Tuttle Creek Blvd. when the guide motorcycle slowed down just south of the Madison Rd. intersection. Even so, one of the trailing bikes did not slow down in time and collided with the lead cycle.
The Kansas Freeway Patrol crash log indicates the lead motorcycle was driven by George Faust, 67, of La Vista, Neb. He was sporting a helmet at the time of the crash and was everyday living-flighted to Stormont Vail Medical center with suspected severe accidents to his reduce extremities.
The second driver was listed on the log as Peter R. Ross, 66, of Glenwood Iowa. He was also putting on a helmet and was taken to Ascension Via Christi Medical center in Manhattan with suspected minor injuries.
It stated each drivers have been acutely aware when crews arrived.
Officers stated drivers should be informed there may possibly be a delay if traveling by way of the place. The spot has considering that reopened.
